About us

A potted history of SCA

Back in the 1980's, after being made redundant with the demise of British Crane Hire, we made the decision to go it alone. First starting as a mobile vehicle welder trading as Stort Welding and Auto panels. After a couple of years on the road premises were acquired in Bishops Stortford Herts. There we were often asked for other parts, so gradually Stort Car Accessories was born.

Because of our own involvement in motorsport i.e Autocross,Rallycross & Rallying we started being ask for more & more performance parts.
Stort Car Accessories was shortened to 'SCA'.
The outside of our premises in Bishops Stortford with a very 'special' member of staff waiting to greet you. However the premises were now out grown so the hunt was on for something bigger. In 1990 we decided to relocate to Norwich and have never looked back. These were our original premises in Page Road. At first we had a small tyre fitting area but this soon filled up with accessories and stock  as more display area was required.

Ex tyre bay now more display area at Page Road.

For three years we serviced every Snetterton Race meeting.

We also had trade stands at grass track meetings such as Peterborough, Cambridge, Mildenhall.  We attended many Short Oval meetings at Swaffham, Skegness, Boston & Yarmouth. As the business flourished the unit in Page Road was outgrown and the hunt was on for bigger premises to incorporate a dedicated workshop. This land was acquired in 1998 and Performance House was built.
